A Legend of the Dove by George Sterling
Once the Lord of Heaven chose two doves, both young and fair,
and told them of a special journey, one that they would share.
"Go now upon the earth and see two hearts where you may dwell,
and there I, too, shall come and make my home as well.
We'll join the two and make them one, a Husband and his Wife.
My Spirit will endow their love with everlasting life."
Today the Doves will bring a sacred promise from above,
to those whose hearts are open to the miracle of LOVE.

Around the world in ancient times, the goddesses of love,
Aphrodite, Venus, both, chose a pure-white dove.
Loyal to both mate and home, the white doves represent,
True devotion, partnership, and love that’s heaven sent.
The doves know well that it takes two to build a nest and care,
Tenderly for eggs and young-- unending love they share.
Doves will court with coos and kisses, ‘round and ‘round they’ll turn.
They mate for life and to their home they faithfully return.
So with these doves fly hopes and dreams, for families old and new.
Their clapping flight a joyous sight, rising through a sky of blue.
Sailing high on wings of white, doves are love returning,
Celebrating family bonds, and joyful love enduring.

Hear the sound the white wings make,
and feel the love in your heart you take.
Our hearts are one our time is free,
so much i love you and you love me.
You gave me your heart and you have mine,
and now we are one forever in time.
Hold me tight and feel my love,
as we watch the flight of doves above.
We will always be one in our hearts forever,
our love strong never to sever.
So lets hold hands and walk in the sun,
As for us-- life has just begun.
