White Dove: Show & Tell -- Hold & Release
Doves Above is available to bring birds to community and school groups. The opportunity to hold one of our white doves, to feel it breathe, and to feel the heartbeat inspires many to bond with nature in a very personal way. The experience of releasing a flock of birds, who take-off with a whirl of wings and the sound of applause, creates vivid memories and many teachable moments.
Hawk Talks
With permission from the State of Iowa,Doves Above is often available to give Hawk Talks. We usually have a hawk in our care from November through April and we enjoy speaking with groups about raptor biology, their role in nature, and issues that threaten them.
Credentials
With a background as a science teacher (grades 7-12), a community college instructor (anatomy, physiology, environmental science), and falconer, I have developed a passion (some call it an obsession) for birds and the habitats that support them. I have a deep knowledge base, a wide variety of personal experiences, and a love of sharing it with others.
